Dr Joanne Ablett acknowledges the need to look after yourself as a carer of a person with amyloidosis, a role that can be overwhelming at times. She explores the different mental and physical responses people experience—including stress, trouble sleeping, mental shutdown et al—and suggests a number of strategies to cope better. These include breathing and grounding exercises along with mindfulness.

Dr Joanne Ablett is a clinical psychologist with experience in chronic conditions. Her videos here focus on mindfulness and mental health, as well as how to tackle some of the tougher to answer questions a diagnosis of hATTR may raise.
