Dr Carol Whelan explains that if your loved one has an amyloidosis diagnosis, they’ll most likely be looked after by a multidisciplinary team consisting of many professionals including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists both locally and nationally. Working in coordination through regular meetings, they will monitor your loved one’s condition and offer help at each stage of their journey in terms of effective & supportive treatments.
Dr Carol Whelan holds the position of Consultant at the National Amyloidosis Centre. Having worked with the hATTR community for years, her videos here explain a bit more about the symptoms, care, and the potential hereditary nature of this condition.
