We recently hosted our fifth online support group for people affected by amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy. These bi-monthly sessions are delivered in partnership with Cardiomyopathy UK, with representatives from both organisations co-hosting.
The group continues to grow, and at our most recent session we welcomed seven attendees — a mix of returning members and those joining for the first time. These sessions provide a safe, supportive space for patients to connect, share experiences and learn from one another.
Topics discussed included:
- Experiences of attending the National Amyloidosis Centre
- Managing fluid restrictions and medications
- Understanding and accessing clinical trials
We also occasionally invite guest speakers. Most recently, Christine Chiti, ATTR Nurse Specialist at the National Amyloidosis Centre, joined us to share her expertise and answer questions.
