We’re so glad you’ve found our community. This forum is a safe, supportive space where individuals affected by amyloidosis—whether patients, caregivers, or loved ones—can connect, share experiences, and offer each other support. We understand how challenging this journey can be, and we hope that through open conversations, you’ll find comfort, advice, and a sense of community.
Please keep in mind that while this forum is a wonderful place for sharing personal stories and coping strategies, it is not a source of professional medical advice. Always consult your healthcare provider for any medical concerns or treatment-related questions.
Thank you for being a part of our supportive community, and we look forward to hearing from you!
Community Guidelines
To keep this forum a safe, respectful, and helpful place for all, please follow these simple rules:
1. Be Kind and Respectful
Everyone’s journey with amyloidosis is different. Please approach all discussions with kindness, respect, and empathy. Harassment, bullying, bad language or rude behaviour will not be tolerated.
2. No Medical Advice
This forum is for peer support only. While sharing personal experiences is encouraged, please refrain from offering medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Always direct any medical questions to a qualified healthcare provider. If you have specific amyloidosis questions, you can submit these under the ‘Ask an Expert’ and we will do our best to find an answer.
3. Respect Privacy
Please respect the privacy of others in the community. Do not share anyone’s personal information without permission, and be mindful of your own privacy when posting. Avoid sharing personal details such as your address, email, or phone number in forum posts—any posts containing such information will be removed. If you wish to share contact details with another member, please use the private message function and remember you do so at your own risk.
4. Stay On-Topic
Keep conversations relevant to living with amyloidosis, caregiving, and general emotional support. If you have questions or comments unrelated to these topics, consider starting a new thread or exploring other resources.
5. No Promotion or Advertising
This is a space for support, not for promoting products, services, or personal ventures. Any posts that appear to be advertisements or solicitations will be removed.
6. Report Concerns
If you encounter any behaviour that violates these guidelines or makes you uncomfortable, please report it to the forum moderators so we can address it promptly.
7. Respect Private Forums
We’ve created separate forums for patients and caregivers to provide a dedicated space for each group. Patients and caregivers consistently tell us how much they value connecting with others who truly understand their experiences. To keep these spaces safe and supportive, please respect the entry criteria: only patients may join the patient forum, and only caregivers may join the caregiver forum. Thank you for helping us maintain these supportive communities.
Thank you for helping us create a caring and supportive environment.
We’re here to help each other navigate the ups and downs of living with amyloidosis, so let’s make this space as welcoming and supportive as possible.
